Field Scope Images

Most of the phytoplankton photos on this site were taken with a Zeiss
Axio lmager Compound Microscope with digital Axiocam camera and
a variety of illumination schemes (far left). When cells from a net tow
need to be identified quickly, a portable field microscope is used, illuminated by overhead lights or a small flashlight (left). The photos
on this page were taken with a hand-held digital camera affixed to
the field scope. Click on each photo to reach the corresponding identification page.
