		Genus: Spirulina\| Cyanobacteria Order: Chroococcales Family: Spirulinaceae Description: Free-floating, filamentous cyanobacteria. Filaments unbranched, always without sheaths, rarely solitary, usually in clusters or in fine mats which can cover the substrate. Screw-like coils of cells common. Cells are pale blue-green, olive-green or pinkish. Spirulina is commonly used as a dietary supplement. Cell size: Length 4mm, width 6-9mm, spiral diameter 25-45mm
